TCL Commission chairman to receive Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs

Arthur E. Brown Jr., chairman of the commission for the Technical College of the Lowcountry, will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs on Friday. The honor is the school’s most prestigious award and recognizes individuals whose professional accomplishments bring honor to the school and inspire students. Only 32 of 7,000 alumni have received the designation. Brown, a Hilton Head Island resident, has been a member of the TCL Commission since 1997 and served as chairman of the TCL Foundation. His 36-year career in the U.S. Army culminated in the rank of four-star general and an appointment to vice chief of staff of the Army.

It’s time for some Pitt football!

Posted on August 29, 2010 by Alan

It is time to get your Pitt football jerseys out of the closet. It is time to find your blue and gold beads. And it is definitely time to get ready to cheer, run around until the flow of energy is better. In other words, it is time to start hang out with the Pitt Club of the Lowcountry, again.

In its opening game of the season, Pitt travels to Utah. The last time these two teams met in 2004–it was not pretty for the Panthers. The game starts at 8:30 pm. It will be broadcast on versus.

The Pitt Club will gather at Hilton Head Brew Pub. There is a new chef and a new menu. There are also tvs outside on the back patio. I am anxious to try out the improvements. I hope you are as well.
