Pitt finished the first half on a 26-8 run to take a 39-26 lead into the locker room at halftime of today’s NCAA first-round game against Oakland University at the Bradley Center.

Double Bye seems costly — Pitt loses to ND. 0

Pitt, Syracuse and Villanova all were upset today at the Big East Tournament. They all had double byes.

Pitt played an ugly game against Notre Dame. They had chances down the stretch to win the game but nothing would go in for the Panthers. The final score was 50-45.

Brad Wanamaker scored 16 for Pitt (24-8). This is the second year in a row that Pitt had a double bye and lost their opening game at the Big East Tournament.

We’ll have to wait until Sunday to see how this impacts their seeding in the tournament.
