#19 Pitt Travels to Marquette 2

Posted on February 18, 2010 by april

Tonight, February 18th at 9pm, Pitt will take on the Marquette Golden Eagles at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Pitt is hoping to stop their 3 game– on the road– losing streak. The Golden Eagles are the only Big East team that Pitt has never beaten on the road, during the Dixon era–it all started with Dwayne Wade, under Howland, in Minneapolis at the Sweet 16. Marquette has won all three Big East home games against Pittsburgh, however Marquette has yet to defeat a top 25 opponent this season. Marquette is 5.5 point favorite.

If you haven’t kept up with the NBA this season, former Pitt Panther DeJuan Blair is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year consideration, serving as San Antonio’s top player off the bench (sometimes even seeing starting time to give All-Star Tim Duncan a rest).

Also, on Friday night, Blair participated in the Rookie vs. Sophomore game during the league’s All-Star game festivities. Blair put up another 20-point, 20-rebound performance.
