Pitt falls at Seton Hall 0
From April:
Two losses in a row? Wow, Pitt played atrociously this afternoon against Seton Hall. It was one of their worst games all season today. The final score was Seton Hall 64-61 Pitt. (The score does not reflect how poorly Pitt played) This was not the road game that anyone would have thought would be their first loss at the beginning of the season. They lose to Seton Hall after beating Syracuse, Cincinnati and UCONN on the road? The officiating drove those of at the Brew Pub insane as did the 20 turnovers Pitt had.
Ashton Gibbs had 23 points, including all 14 of his free throws, to lead Pittsburgh, but he missed two tying 3-point attempts in the final 5 seconds.
Jermaine Dixon added 11 points for the Panthers. It looked like Jermaine had a broken finger or two during the first half. Dante Taylor, a fellow Pitt player, ran into Dixon early in the first half. Luckily Dr. Jim Barber, an extremely loyal Pitt fan, examined him from behind the bench. He returned to the game. Hopefully he will be good to go against St. John’s on Thursday night.
Let’s hope the next couple of days off will allow the team to start to play cohesively again. Pitt needs stop this skid and playing St. John’s at home is an excellent opportunity to do so.
St. John’s is coming off of a home loss to Villanova. St. John’s really played well against Nova. They hung in their until the second half when Nova was able to over power them.
St. John’s on Thursday, January 28th night at 7pm and then South Florida Sunday, January 31st at 1pm –this game is being played in Tampa.
See you at the Hilton Head Brewing Company–hopefully for two wins!!
Hail to Pitt!!
